Summary. This is a brief systematic review of
the foreign and domestic literature to evaluate economic loss due
burning injuries of the population. Medical economic assessment of costs
linked to quality of inpatient care for burning injury was performed.
Combined evaluation of the rates of mortality, hospital lethality, and
disability when associated with burning injury was fulfilled. Economic
burden resulting from expenses of delivered inpatient care for trauma
linked to its quality and accessibility was evaluated.

Measures outlined by appropriate programs for developing certain
organizational trends of inpatient for burning injuries and wide
introduction of modern medical technologies of early surgical
interventions and plastic closure of the burn wounds were analyzed. The
article introduces classification of burning injuries, methods of
prognostic evaluation of its intrinsic severity and outcomes. Thus,
evaluation of costs of the public health to deliver effect-oriented
inpatient care for burning injuries effectively treated patients.

Wide-scale realization of measures for reduction of mortality from
thermal burns requires extensive funding and appropriate organizational
possibilities and resources with more wide engagement of certain state
budget items.

The very optimization of burn centers and relevant burn departments
of municipal hospitals necessitated such an approach as creation of
national register of burn cases, as well as introduction of quality
assessment based on the use of medical standards and task indicators.

Keywords. burning injuries; burn condition; prognostic
indexes and scales; completed case of treatment; hospital lethality;
hospital registers; economic costs; program measures.

The basic approaches to statistical
classification of traumas and their coding in hospital practice are
determined according to WHO requirements and IDC-10 rules. Insufficient
differentiation of nosological forms by the class of Traumas,
poisonings and some other consequences of the impact of the external
reasons in Federal State statistical supervision according form 14
in 2005-2008 was revealed. Also submitted are the parameters of general
hospital lethality, as a whole, those caused by the reasons of the
class of Traumas, poisonings and some other consequences of impact of
the external reasons , and also separately from fractures, burns and
poisonings. It is shown that the opportunities of the present day
statistical tools, IDC-10, are not sufficiently used for liquidation of
information gaps.
